Project Hail Mary: The Astrophage Threat

An infrared line going from Venus to the Sun has been discovered by Dr. Irina Petrova. Dubbed the Petrova line, it has been dimming the Sun's radiance at a level catastrophic for Earth. Delegates have been assigned to Project Hail Mary, a program dedicated to discovering the cause of this dimming and saving Earth. They will plan, debate, and coordinate a response to the growing disaster in space, as well as prepare for the inevitable fallout of life on Earth. Will the denizens of this planet be able to cooperate and meet this challenge head on, or will humanity die out with their fading Sun?
