INTERPOL Cybercrime Directorate: Operation Synthetic Front

The rise of generative AI has changed the digital space into a realm where crime is prevalent. Transnational gangs and government actors use this technology to make highly realistic deepfake media that destabilize financial institutions and cause civil disturbances. As representatives of INTERPOL’s member states and law enforcement leadership, delegates are tasked with bridging the gap between national sovereignty and global security to combat this rising threat. In order to address these international crimes, the committee will organize joint missions, put up emergency INTERPOL notices, and develop forensic protocols to help safeguard the digital world.
