Laban Lang! Cabinet of President Corazon Aquino, 1986

The Philippines has just undergone significant upheaval. Over a few short years, long-time dictator Ferdinand Marcos was ousted in the EDSA Revolution, and the people elected their first female president. President Corazon "Cory" Aquino, the widow of assassinated President Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, has been elected to lead a healing country. Delegates will serve as prominent political and community leaders, each championing their own policies while working to stabilize the country. Aquino won her election with a broad coalition of disparate supporters; satisfying all of them would have to also contend with the country's existing challenges. This new administration faces natural disasters, dismantling Marcos-era policies, the threat of attempted coups, recovering from a weakened economy, and perhaps the most daunting of all, drafting a new constitution. Delegates will have to navigate these challenges in order to preserve Philippine democracy, else risking a return to the authoritarianism its people fought so hard to overthrow.
